Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya


It is the oldest Agriculture University in West Bengal functioning for more than 33 years. It has strong research presence in disadvantaged districts of West Bengal.


  1. Interventions related to productivity enhancement of aman paddy.
  2. Commercial seed production of paddy, maize, mustard, lentil, jute and wheat.
  3. Enterprise related to vermicompost, medicinal plant, commercial nursery and dry flower.
  4. Interventions related to productivity enhancement of cotton and cashew.
West Bengal University of Animal and Fishery Sciences It is the only Veterinary University in West Bengal. All of the three districts selected for the project fall under the jurisdiction of WBUAFS
  1.  Overall responsibility of productivity enhancement of Cattle, Fish, Goat and Pigs.
Kalyan Krishi Vigyan Kendra (Affiliated to Ramakrishna Mission Loksiksha Parishad)
The KVK is run by ICAR. It is an eminent NGO having framers interfacing in more than 50 villages in Purulia district. It has worked extensively in watershed.
  1. Watershed management through contour bunding, Tie-ridges, Check Dam, Rock check Dam, etc. in at least 100 ha over the districts of West Midnapore, Bankura and Purulia.
  2. Excavation and re-excavation of water harvesting structure, micro-irrigation facilities and multiple use of water by the women SHGs, groundwater storage, soil loss check.
ACCESS Development Services
Capacities of the organization to draw on a significant pool of appropriate expertise both within and outside the organization for community mobilization and market linkage.
ACCESS has been fundamentally engaged in India for the cause of the marginalized, focusing on women and children. CARE India has created ACCESS development service.
  1. Partnership selection, incubation and creation of sustainable local responsive Peoples Institutions.
  2. Working with PRIs, district line agencies for integration and sustainable future initiative.
Indian Grameen Services (IGS), a BASIX. group of companies Indian Grameen Services (IGS), a not-for-profit company of the INDIAN GRAMEEN SERVICES-A BASIX GROUP, is involved in livelihood promotion, knowledge building through action research and dissemination of the same for enhancing the implementation capacities of organizations supporting livelihoods.

Objectives
  1. To increase food security and enhance income through increased productivity in Aman Rice.
  2. To ensure irrigation through harvesting water.
  3. To enhance farmers’ income through productivity enhancement of livestock and fisheries.
  4. To ensure farmers’ income through productivity enhancement of cotton and cashew as second crop to Aman Rice.
  5. To trigger entrepreneurship among small and marginal farmers and landless labourers through commercial seed production.
